Sarah Milligan from the Alzheimer’s Association talks about dementia.

Hammond-Whiting Care Center in Hammond, Indiana, hosted its first family night on Jan. 26, 2017, with a special Alzheimer’s program.

Sarah Milligan from the Alzheimer’s Association presented to the attending residents’ family members about the basics of dementia. The facility also provided snacks for the guests.

“Family feedback was very positive,” said Michael Williams, business development director. “We plan on having the family nights quarterly. Our goal is to provide education and support and build unity among our associates, residents and their loved ones.”
